Monday July 13 we had a great webinar on Africa, COVID-19 and the commons. The video recording of the webinar can be accessed here.
A lot of issues came up that could be discussed more, such as the role of the State, the impact of closed boundaries, and type of recovery we could expect. We are at an inflection point as Dr. Hall noted, and there are no clear solutions to the current challenges. What are your perspectives to the current situation?
During the webinar a few poems were recited. Attached is a pdf with the poems.
Interesting comments were raised on governing the atmospheric commons on:
1. How the institutional mechanisms required are inadequate in the context of Covid-19. What are your reflections?
2. Individual Faustian choices focusing, for example, on national job creation. Any reflections on this?
Are there reflections from other transboundary commons?
